Clean Room Instrument Assembly & Test Area: a 420 square foot temperature and humidity controlled laboratory with 330 square feet of cleanroom space.

- Class 10,000 clean room
- Five (5) downflow ESD-certified cleanroom workbenches produce conditions near Class 100 within for instrument prep
- Continuous particle monitoring
- Monthly processing of foils for monitoring of organics
- MMS HPCA EPIC chamber interior access only on cleanroom side
- Lab 380 (left, beyond barrier wall) & 374 (right)
- Vacuum degassing chamber (24” x 24” x 24” cube) for low vacuum sample or instrument preparation
- Heating to instrument specifications (typically 60 degrees C)
- No TQCM
- High purity Nitrogen available for instrument purging
- All chamber venting done with high purity nitrogen
Materials prohibited both Ion and Electron chambers: nylon, silicone, PVC, low molecular weight hydrocarbons, zinc, cadmium, brass, particulate contaminated or producing items/mechanisms (blacklight inspection prior to chamber entry preferred)
